Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about our research peptides, testing, ordering and shipping. Everything supplied by Santa Cruz Peptides is intended strictly for laboratory research use.
Quality and Testing
What purity are your peptides?
All compounds are supplied at greater than 98 percent purity, verified by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and mass spectrometry.
What is the difference between HPLC and mass spectrometry testing?
They answer different questions. HPLC measures how much of a preparation is a single component and reports purity as a percentage. Mass spectrometry measures molecular weight and confirms the material is the intended sequence. A compound can be highly pure and still be the wrong molecule, which is why both are needed.
Is your testing done in-house or independently?
Testing is performed by independent third-party laboratories. A certificate produced by the seller carries an obvious conflict of interest, which is why independent verification is the standard we hold to.
What form do the peptides come in?
All compounds are supplied as lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder in sealed vials, with no fillers or additives.
Why does purity matter so much in peptide research?
Solid-phase synthesis is efficient but not perfect, and small failures accumulate as deletion sequences, truncated chains and residual reagents. These impurities are structurally similar to the target and can retain partial activity or compete at the same receptor. An experiment run at 85 percent purity is not the same experiment as one run at 98 percent, and differences between laboratories frequently trace back to material rather than method.
Ordering and Shipping
Where do you ship from?
All orders are picked, packed and dispatched from California. See our California shipping page for detail.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is free on every order, regardless of size, and includes tracking.
How long does delivery take?
California destinations typically receive orders one to two days after dispatch. Other continental US destinations follow a standard domestic timeline. Tracking is provided on every order.
Do you charge sales tax?
California sales tax is applied to orders shipped within California and is calculated at checkout.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept major credit and debit cards through a secure processor, along with cryptocurrency. Card details are handled entirely by the payment provider and never stored on our servers.
Can I track my order?
Yes. A tracking number is emailed as soon as your order ships, and every shipment includes tracking at no extra cost.
Products
What is a peptide blend?
A blend is a co-formulated preparation containing more than one peptide in a single vial. Blends allow interaction and additivity questions to be studied within one system rather than across several preparations. Our blends publish the exact composition of each component — see the KLOW Blend guide for an example.
Do you publish the composition of your blends?
Yes. Every blend lists the exact milligram amount of each constituent in its specifications table rather than only a combined total.
How do I choose between different vial sizes?
Larger vials generally offer a lower cost per milligram. Each product page links to the other available sizes of the same compound so you can compare directly.
Do you offer bulk or wholesale pricing?
Contact us directly to discuss requirements for larger or recurring orders.
Research Use and Compliance
Are these products safe for human use?
No. Every compound sold is intended strictly for laboratory and research purposes. They are not intended for human or veterinary use, diagnosis, treatment or consumption, and they have not been evaluated by the FDA for any such purpose.
Do you provide dosing or administration guidance?
No. We do not provide dosing, administration or protocol guidance of any kind. Experimental parameters are determined by qualified researchers within their own institutional framework.
Who can purchase from Santa Cruz Peptides?
Purchases are intended for qualified researchers and institutions. By ordering, the buyer confirms they are purchasing for legitimate laboratory research and will handle the material in accordance with all applicable regulations.
Are you a compounding pharmacy?
No. Santa Cruz Peptides is a research chemical supplier. We are not a compounding pharmacy as defined under section 503A of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, nor an outsourcing facility as defined under 503B.
